Power Ports

This section contains a list of power ports or outlets for PDU devices. Data on ports is collected on a regular basis during polling process using SNMP (SNMP Device Configuration Settings). Power Outlets module is responsible for the data collecting of PDU devices. You can read about a global module configuration in the Settings section.

You can also add the ports manually using a special ‘Add New Power Port’ form.

  • Port Label - the label port
  • Port number - the port number
  • Media Type - the type of port
  • Cable Colors - color of power cord, allows better identification of the port
  • Description - short description of the port
  • User Label - custom name chosen by the user, used for a better port identification

Each port can be virtually connected to any other port in the system. It’s used to identify connections between the devices. Fields such as Connected Item and Connected Port are used for this purpose. Those fields can be found in the table presenting the list of ports:

The options list for the Connected Port field is dependent on the Connected Item Field. Connected Item field contains only PDU devices list. If for example Connected Item field for PDU 1 is selected then Connected Port field will automatically contain list of all PDU 1 outlets. To disable previous choice we can set the Connected Item value to ‘Unassigned’. At this point the port is going to be automatically disabled. We can also perform this action by using one of the icons located in the Actions column in the table.
